About Me

Hi, I’m Kelly and I am a licensed therapist in the states of California and Hawaii. I currently offer virtual therapy sessions to residents of both states.

 About Therapy

Therapy has changed throughout the years. The therapy that you and I will do together does not require a couch or psychoanalysis. Instead, this is a place for you to come, speak your mind, spill your guts, drink your tea, and crack some jokes along the way.

the goal for our time together is self improvement, self reflection, and skill building

In order to get you to the place you want to be, I strive to make these sessions as comfortable and relaxed as possible. Empathy and understanding are vital in our work together. Additionally, I believe wholeheartedly that humor and laughter are also keys to success.

how does therapy work?

Therapy sessions are one on one and consist of 60 minute meetings. We may meet as often as one time a month or one time a week. In our first session I will ask a series of background questions to get to know you and what brings you in. From there on, we will focus on goals that you have in therapy and barriers that are getting in the way of you achieving them.

my journey to

becoming a therapist

As a young adult, I played soccer competitively for elite level teams.  I have been associated with and played for youth Olympic Development Programs, California-North state and regional championships, and finally, competed collegiately at the Division 1 level while studying Sociology and Applied Psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara.  After ending my sport, I later went on to coach youth players in Hawaii on both Oahu and Maui. I have personal knowledge of the incredible confidence and joy sports can provide.  I also have experienced the negative side effects from performing at such an elite level.

I have experience being a coach, athlete, and professional, which has helped shape the way I show up with individuals in sessions.  Knowing that athletics and sports are a unique culture, experience, and at times have their own expectations, norms, and sometimes even language helps provide information for how I can support someone who comes in seeking therapy.

As someone who faced the harsh adjustment from high school to college life away from home, I felt inspired by those who supported me and walked with me along my journey. I used therapy as a tool when it seemed as though my sport, my team, my friends, and family were not enough. Therapy helped me while experiencing grief, loss, depression, an eating disorder, and stress. Not only did it help me with my general well-being, but it also helped heal and improve my relationship with my body, mind, and sport.

With the deeply saddening increase in number of student athlete suicides over the last few years, I felt influenced to increase support systems where athletes and high performing individuals feel safe to come and get help

I am proud to currently be working high school, collegiate, and professional athletes on their current, past, and future relationships with their sports and their overall well-being.

Fun Facts About Me

I am a sports enthusiast! When I am not working, I am often either watching the most recent sports game or outside running, swimming, and spending as much time outdoors and around family.  Since ending my sport of soccer, I have begun running races (10k, half marathons, and marathons) for fun. I have two mini australian shepherds (Ruby and Sheila) who love to try and make an appearance in sessions whenever they have the chance.
